Another Roswell mystery. This one has its origins late 1958 in the Roswell's Historic District at a house which was built in 1900. "This home mixes Southwest Vernacular features, i.e. flat roof, stuccoed exterior, with the horizontal lines of Prairie Style".  See pic below.

Treponema Tango

Natural marvel or painting masterpiece ?
No, treponema pallidum...

Sam Adams

Treponema pallidum is a difficult-to-eradicate pathogen and responsible for the sexually-transmitted disease, syphilis, also known as The Great Pretender..  The English and Italians called it the French Disease or the French Pox (morbus gallicus); the French; called it the Neapolitan sickness; Russians referred to it as the Polish sickness; Poles called it the German sickness; Flemings, Dutch, Portuguese and North Africans called it the Spanish or Castilian sickness; and the Japanese called it the Canton Rash or the Chinese Ulcer.

 From the Sam Adams obit
Samuel T. Adams, Jr. (1928-2016) - Sam Adams, "The Prince of Parody," announces that he has completed his 88-year gig on planet Earth, and is available for other engagements. Sam, also known as "Sonny" Adams, was a fixture on the New Orleans entertainment scene from the 1940s until fairly recently. He was a modern minstrel, miraculously managing to earn a living over this period not only as an incomparable pianist and clarinetist, but also as a humorist, puppeteer, and TV "Bozo the Clown".  (...)  Funeral and celebration arrangements are a bit confused at this time, which is the way Sam would have like it.

Bo Diddley

Maureen Tucker
Bo Diddley

This is Maureen “Moe” Tucker, the Velvet Underground’s drummer doing Bo Diddley, first track from her "Playin’ Possum" album (recorded, mixed and mastered in Phoenix, Arizona in 1981)

After the Velvets broke up, Maureen moved to Texas and got a job at Wal-Mart, and raised her large family. She finally went back to music in 1981, when she recorded her first album in her living room (“between diaper changes”, she says) over a period of six months, overdubbing every instrument.

Long Necked Goose

According to a comment from 2017 published by dbaugh1805 at 45cat/com, "Frank Clark (Clarko) was a DJ in the East back then. He lives in California now and has a streaming oldies Internet radio program on Rockhouse Radio.".  His only recording?

This Trumpet label was owned by New York born Harry Gorlin (1902-1995) who also was Vice-President and executive in charge of the "new" National Recording Corporation (NA-R-CO) in Atlanta, after the bankrupt of Bill Lowery's NRC company in April 1961. The company would re-emerge from bankruptcy in 1962, under the ownership of Frederick Storey (president of the Storey theaters of Georgia), but Lowery had left the company (he came back later).

For a list of masters produced by Harry Gorlin in 1962-1963, see HG master numbers

Deborah [of The Flying Lizards] sound-alikes

Deborah Evans-Stickland

If there wasn't Deborah, The Flying Lizards would never had a chance of having a hit. Full stop.

Quite fascinated by her voice and her loveable eccentric personnality, I tried to find similarly voiced artists. I've found five singers who sounds in a way or another, or in some parts, like her. Among these five, there is Little Miss Darlene and her backing band whose recording is surprisingly so close to "Money" that it can be qualified as "anticipatory plagiarism" as defined by François Le Lionnais . Anticipatory plagiarism occurs when someone steals your original idea and publishes it before you.
track listing:
Janice Jones - Big Bad john
Lady Nell - Loving Daddy
Little Miss Darlene - Huddle Me, Cuddle Me
Marva Turner -  Cool Operation
Sister Irene O'Connor  - O Brother!
The Flying Lizards - Money
Bios of these artists are sketchy or non-existent, with the exception of Sister Irene O'Connor who in 2012, at the age of 84, developped and ran massage therapy for the terminally ill. "massage therapy for the terminally ill", I like that.

And oh I almost forgot to mention that "Money" was recorded in a “cold meat fridge in Brixton, London." I like that too!

No-Brainer - volume 2

Another compilation of tracks selected by "Random The Music !", a quite elementary and easy to use freeware, but making a mistake it's also easy. It erased unflinchingly some 8.000 files in just one second because I entered the wrong destination for the selected files!

Selections are from a folder named D:\MUSIC\_COLLECTIONS\A Million Dollars-20\ containing 20 volumes of Doo Wop, so you know what to expect! Tracks are as it is, but I removed the needlessly (and silly) "& group" included in the name of artist.

Dino Matthews - 00 - The Girl That I Love
Gloria Knight - 00 - Lonely Girl
Pepper & The Shakers - 00 - Need Your Love
Peter Pete & The Lovers - 00 - A Lonely Island
