Music To Clean Up By

[1960]

From the back sleeve :

Some things are worth singing about. Sometimes even a chemical offers such bold and beautiful advantages that the whole thing is worth putting to music.
From discogs
Amusing promotional item for potential industrial buyers of TKPP (tetrapotassium pyrophosphate for non-chemists), sold by Monsanto as a household cleaning agent.
A syncopated pop number describes the benefits of TKPP ("solubility, no turbidity"), and features lead vocals by a slightly-breathy housewife ("love that TK double P").
The beautiful advantages and benefits of the Monsanto Top 12 products are listed here by Parker-Waichman, a law firm : Saccharin, Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs), Polystyrene, Atomic Bombs, DDT, Dioxin, Agent Orange, Petroleum-Based Fertilizer, Bovine Growth Hormone (rBGH) and Genetically Modified Crops (GMOs).
All but one have been attributed to causing cancer, a majority of them are known to have caused adverse health effects in both humans and animals; as well as hundreds of thousands of deaths, millions of injuries, and genetic damage in at least half a million people. The Earth has even felt the effects of these products with many causing environmental harm and creating pollution.

Bon appétit!
