  1. Well that's cool! I see the Minit publishing ...was Minit involved?

  2. I remember that night when we recorded. I don't know why we didn't come up with something original, but the flip side was an original instramental called RUDE with Donna leading it all off. I'm sorry I don't remember Donna's last name, but She was our regular femal singer and of course, Nate Jones (ESSE) was our main show. The band was called ESSE AND THE SHOWMEN, NOT SHOWMAN, but no biggie. I can't name everybody in the band, but they were all great people. Danny G. ran the horn section, Buddy B. was a much better guitar than I, but he agreed to play bass. Glen D. was on the fender rhodes piano. Man, we went through a lot of reeds on that instrument. Glen was the hippist musician in our band I think, but I think that we had Linole W. on drums, but then we used to play sometimes with two drummers. We only used one drummer that night. Jerry, who later married Donna was the best rythm guitar player ever. He used to throw his FENDER JAGUAR guitar all the way across the stage when he was drunk, but it always kept working. I was the worst guitar player around, but I could somehow work out all the horn parts and get the right chord progressions figured out close enough, so I wasn't thrown out. The record came about because we ( the band), all went up to Pamona Ca. and impersonated the KINGSMEN a couple nights. We learned every song on the KINGSMEN album from LOUIE LOUIE and all their other songs. That was the deal. Do the Kingsmen show and get a free recording. We had a great time. I appoligize to Danny G. about that gig. For some reason I was going to leave Danny out of the gig, but in the end, he made it. So that's the story of this record. I'm Chuck Taylor. I lost my last copy of this record several years ago, so thanks very much for publishing it on the web. contact me at n6xf@yahoo.com
